ALLENDALE, Mich., - The Panthers posted their third straight shutout his season, this time on the road in a familiar location – Grand Valley State University. Davenport played stifling defense across the board, while ensuring that their cross town rivals didn't even come close.
The Panthers improved to 3-0 behind a big performance from Senior Captain/All-American
Danielle Ordway, who had 5 try's on the day. Her other Captain,
Hannah Tennant had a day herself, converting 90% of her conversions while going 10/11 for Davenport. These two were able to lead their team to a big victory over a conference rival, who generally finishes in the top portion of the conference.
Davenport also had big days from their pack, who dominated the pitch. This allowed USA Rugby 15's Championship MVP
Hunter Moreland to add two try's from the 8-man position.
"We are continually working on different aspects of the game to improve the speed of our attack and defense, which we touch on every week," stated
Hannah Tennant, "Were looking forward to playing Oakland as they are a new face in our league and REALLY looking forward to our biggest test this season in Notre Dame College next week."
Davenport plays Oakland University next, followed by Division I rivals Notre Dame College. Stay up-to-date with everything that is Davenport Women's Ruby on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by following @DU_WRugby.
