SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The undefeated Panthers were handed their first loss of the season from a red-hot Division I Notre Dame College squad. The Falcons have only lost one match this year, over a strong defending DI Varsity Quinnipac team, while posting big wins versus teams like Army and Life University.

Davenport struck first, pushing the Falcons back off of penalties, with a penalty kick from Hannah Tennant. 14 minutes later, Notre Dame struck back, scoring and converting a try to make the score 3-7 in the Falcons favor. The Falcons kept the Panthers on their heels all game, scoring three more times before the half and three more times after the half. The Panthers lost 39-3 to the Falcons.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport didn't waste any time in turning around and picking themselves up after a loss in Ohio. After the game against the Falcons on Thursday, they traveled up the Beltline to play Calvin College and got back in their offensive rhythm. The Panthers scored 75 points while allowing Calvin to only score once and many freshmen scored their first trys. Madison Baldwin, Daluck Prashasouk, and Adriana Martinez (2) were able to cross the try line for the first time, while the normal names and faces dominated the rest of the scoring. Graduate student Madison Sparks notched her second hat trick of the year while freshman Kaitlin Throgmorton scored a pair.

The Panthers have a BYE weekend coming up and are looking forward to facing off versus Bowling Green University on the DU Turf Field. Follow the women's rugby team on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at @du_wrugby for up-to-date details on everything Panthers Rugby.
