GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers advance in the WHAC conference tournament to the quarter-finals after defeating Aquinas 3-1 earlier today. Davenport started off slow as they lost the first set 25-14. They turned around and won the next three sets with authority for a defining victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-SET SCORES: 14-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-12
-The Panthers came out in a daze in the opening set of the match as they lost 25-14. A five point Aquinas run to make the game 19-11 in the Saints favor was the turning point in set one.
-Davenport came out energetic and ready to roll in the second set as they jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead. DU made a couple of key runs in the middle of the set to create a 19-11 lead.
Sami White would cap off the set with a bang as she won the set with a service ace.
-The Saints made the third set a close back and forth battle creating a great environment for fans to watch. The set was tied 17-17 when Davenport made an epic couple runs as they won eight out of the last ten points to win 25-19.
-Aquinas didn't have a chance in the final set due to the Davenport women's volleyball team firing rockets at them left and right. Davenport jumped out to an impressive 21-8 lead after 14 DU kills.
Ashley VanderHorst would provide the match winning kill to send the Panthers into the next round of the conference tournament.

Kasey Stehouwer was all over the place tonight as she tallied 30 digs.
-White tied a career high with 48 assists. This is the third time she has had 48 assists in a match this season.
