FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Davenport cruised to an 8-1 victory over Indiana Tech late last night and improved to 7-2 on the road this year. The Panthers poured in four goals during the final period to leave little hope on the Warriors bench. Davenport looked solid last night and will travel back to Grand Rapids for a three game home stand over the next week.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Warriros of Indiana Tech struck first in the game with a goal scored by Jarrett Pfeiffer just over six minutes into the game. Walker Aurand responded with a goal in the 12th minute of play and it was all the Panthers for the rest of the game. Jordan Simmonds followed Aurand's goal up with one of his own just 16 seconds afterwards, creating a 2-1 Davenport lead after 20 minutes of play.
-The second period saw the Panthers convert on two different power plays all while shutting out the Warriors. Everett Thompson and Simmonds scored on power plays during the period and increased the lead to 4-1 after two periods.
-Davenport showed why they are the fourth ranked team in the nation in the third period, scoring four un-answered goals. Wade Weisgerber got himself into the scoring category on an un-assisted goal in the seventh minute, Jon Mencer scored nine seconds later and was assisted by Michael Lozicki and Sam Basich. Alex Hulford added another two goals in the last five minutes to help the Panthers win 8-1.
-Hulford and Simmonds each had two goals.
-Four different Panthers had two assists on the night, Kody Polin, Weisgerber, Mencer and Lozicki.
-Tanner Swift was a beast in goal, he played all 60 minutes and stopped 32 of the 33 shots by the Warriors.
