Head Coach
Robyn Scherr-Wells was excited for her team, "I'm so proud of this team. It's not easy winning 10 championships in a row. There is a lot of pressure - every team you play is gunning for you and everyone else just expects you to win every game by 20. This team has really embraced that pressure down the stretch and has shown great toughness these last few weeks. This team showed great resolve to be a better and tougher team after we lost to Madonna. I'm excited about how we are playing right now. We're ready to keep playing more games."
The Panthers earned their victory by outscoring the Golden Eagles 46-18 in the paint as
Mallory Sewell recorded 10 points and five rebounds to help DU win the game inside. The Panthers also totaled 20 second chance points and outrebounded Cornerstone 53-28.
Amanda Merz aided this performance with another all-around game of six points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals. DU will see its next action in the WHAC Quarterfinals on February 25 in the Student Center with time and opponent still to be announced.
