PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Davenport men's lacrosse team shook off their first loss of the season with a 24-10 win on Saturday against Buffalo. The Panthers improved to 10-1 by scoring 20 or more goals for the sixth time this season. They had seven goals in the first quarter, six in the second, eight in the third and three in the fourth.
Davenport fired 35 shots on goal in the contest and forced 28 turnovers by the Bulls. The Panthers corralled 60 ground balls and won 29-of-38 face-offs to control the game.
Jimmy DeJaeger won all 29 face-offs and had 12 ground balls.
Bryan Larocque led the team with nine goals and also had two assists.
Jimmy Fata scored a pair of goals and registered nine ground balls.
Devon Benson scored three times and had three assists.
Jarred Riley scored four goals and led the team with five assists.
Logan Poe made 11 saves in the victory for DU.
