MANCHESTER, Ind. - Head men's basketball coach
Burt Paddock was recognized as the Claude Wolfe Alumni Coach of the Year from his alma mater Manchester University over the weekend. Paddock was inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008 and graduated from Manchester in 1997. Over his nine seasons at the helm for the Panthers, he has an overall record of 246-67, good for a winning percentage of .785. He has added four regular season conference championships, two conference tournament championships and three NAIA Fab Four appearances in the National Tournament.
"I am truly humbled to be given this award," said Paddock. "I am honored to accept it on behalf of the terrific coaches who have worked with me as well as the terrific young men who have allowed me to be a part of their lives and coach them here at Davenport."
Davenport University Athletic Director Paul
Lowden stated, "The Claude Wolfe Alumni Coach of the Year award is an outstanding recognition of a coach that has committed his life to the success of others. Coach Paddock is committed to mentoring and having a positive influence in the
lives of the young men in
Davenport University's men's basketball program. The positive impact he has on all of the student-athletes he has coached is equally as impressive as the overwhelming success in wins and losses. It is a well-deserved award and we are proud of his accomplishments."
Paddock continued to say, "I have been incredibly fortunate to have many great coaches in the past and coaches with whom I've worked for and under the last 14 years. I have learned a great many things from each one of them that allow me to do what I do today. For that I am extremely grateful."
