HOW IT HAPPENED
-SET SCORES: 17-25, 10-25, 11-25
-Davenport was in the match during the opening set and won the first point of the game. The Panthers took a 5-4 lead after a block assist by
Jenn Kay Vander Meer and Marvin. Michigan Tech won eight out of the next 10 points, which shifted momentum in the Huskies direction for the remainder of the match. After taking the 12-7 lead, Michigan Tech held a three point or higher lead for the rest of the set.
-In set two a seven point run by the Huskies in the middle of the set gave them a 7-13 lead. After a service error by Michigan Tech they rattled off another seven unanswered points to take a 20-8 lead. The lead was too large for DU to battle back from as the Panthers fell 10-25.
-Davenport fought hard in the third set. Marvin recorded a kill, assisted by
Sydney Tracer, to cut the lead to one point midway through the set. The Huskies won 11 of the next 12 points to run up a 20-9 lead. Michigan Tech hit .440 for the set and won 25-11.
