Davenport Football Announces 2017 Recruiting Class

The class features 17 players from Michigan, seven from Ohio, four from Indiana, three from Illinois and one from Florida

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport football program has received signed National Letters of Intent from 32 student-athletes on Wednesday, February 1 who will help usher the Panthers into NCAA Division II and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in the fall of 2017. The class has student-athletes from five different states including Michigan (17), Ohio (7), Indiana (4), Illinois (3) and Florida (1). The incoming Panthers are represented by 14 offensive, 13 defensive, three athletes and two special teamers.

Interim Head Coach Steve Casula said, "We could not be more excited to announce our recruiting class. Due to the diligence and hard work of our coaching staff, admissions team, athletic administration and our players, we were able to continue our practice of recruiting outstanding students, players, and people. I would be remiss without giving special mention to our assistant coaches. They have done a phenomenal job in finding prospects that fit exactly what Davenport University exemplifies. This class is a credit to the great opportunity that Davenport provides these young men. We have secured the Midwest's best and brightest, and we can't wait to get them here!"
