PULASKI, Tenn. – Davenport swept the competition at the Martin Methodist Meltdown after defeating both Grace College (Ind.) and Calumet College of St. Joseph. The Panthers defeated Grace by a score of 7-4 and beat Calumet 6-2. The team improved to 4-0 after the two wins yesterday and prepare for the NTC Spring Games in Florida over the next couple weeks.

The Panthers jumped out on top of Grace College quickly by scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. Flores tallied two RBI's after a single up the left side of the field and Pauley knocked in two more runs off of another single to left field. The bats for DU went cold over the next five innings as they stayed at the four run mark, that changed in the top of the seventh inning. Allen took a solid swing to left center for a double with one out to score both Eastman and
Aby Brambila. Maves finished the game with a pop up to the short stop, a fly out to right field and struck out the last batter.

Similar to the first game of the day the Panthers jumped out to an early lead. Davenport scored three runs during the second inning and held the lead for the remainder of the game. Pauley doubled to right field with two outs to score Crawford and Obetts in the top of the second inning. Both teams scored two runs during the fourth inning, again it was Crawford and Obetts who scored for DU. Teunissen only allowed two runs during the fourth inning and held the opposition scoreless during the other six innings.

The Panthers travel to Florida this upcoming week and will take on Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida for a double header on Saturday.
