LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Panthers remain undefeated for their 2017 campaign as they sweep Warner in a double header earlier today. Davenport won the first game 1-0, which was highlighted by
Briana Allen hitting a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning, and won the second game 3-2. Again, Allen had the offensive answer as she hit a double in the top of the fifth to score
Aby Brambila. The team remains in Florida for their NTC Spring Games.

Allen's solo home run in the top of the seventh inning was the only run scored for either team.
Mallory Teunissen (W, 3-0) 7 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO
The story of this game was the defense played by both teams. Only one run was scored and only nine combined hits were given up by the pitching staffs. Allen provided the offense for DU with a much needed solo home run during the top of the seventh inning with one out to give Davenport a 1-0 lead. Teunissen got back to back outs to start off the bottom of the seventh inning, she then gave up two consecutive singles and Warned had a runner on third base. She showed poise as she got the last batter to ground out to second base for the final out.

The second game played out different to the first. Warner scored the initial runs during the game with two scored in the first inning. The Panthers tied up the game with the bats catching fire in the fourth inning. Eastman was the first player to bat for DU in the top of the fourth and hit a solo dinger to cut the lead to one run. Her home run sparked DU's offense. Flores, singled, then Pauley singled and Flores advanced to third.
Kennedy Crawford reached on a fielder's choice which scored Pauley, while Reed was out at home after pinch running for Flores. Davenport continued their bats in the fifth inning with a game winning RBI by Allen, scoring Brambila. Maves pitched the bottom of the fifth, sixth and seventh inning and tallied six strike outs.
