CLERMONT, Fla. – The dominance for Davenport continued after Davenport ran Grace College and Trinity International University out of the park. The Panthers are a phenomenal 17-1 and continue to build upon their great start to this young 2017 season.
Danielle Koenen got her second win of the year after pitching against Trinity International in the second game and
Mallory Teunissen earned win number eight against Grace College. When the next NAIA National Poll comes out on March, 21 expect the Panthers to be moving up the rankings.

After breaking the program record for the best start to a season DU improved upon their own record defeating Grace College (Ind.) 7-2. Davenport jumped on top of the Lancers in the first three innings, scoring a combined six runs. Tasma hit another bomb during the second inning and leads the team with three on the year. Davenport tallied a monster 14 hits during their 30 at bats.

Davenport left their foot on the gas peddle as they cruised to a 9-2 victory over a struggling Trinity International team. The Trojans were 0-3 coming into the game and DU shattered their hopes of victory early in the game. The Panthers scored during six of the seven innings and held an eight run lead after the top of the sixth inning. Koenen received her second win of the year and only gave up two runs, while only one was earned.
UP NEXT
While in Florida the Softball team was 13-1 and their only loss came to Southeastern (Fla.), who is ranked third in the nation. Davenport takes six days off from competition before they face Campbellsville University on March, 10 in Kentucky during the CU/LWC Crossover Tournament.
