SYLVANIA, Ohio. – The Panthers took care of business during the first day of WHAC Tournament play out in Ohio. Davenport went undefeated during their two games and finished both games in only five innings. In both games, first one against Lawrence Tech and second against University of Northwestern Ohio, Davenport won 10-1. The Panthers were only one of two teams who went undefeated on the day, Madonna was the other team.

Davenport proved in game one why they are the number one seed in this conference tournament. They outscored the Blue Devils 10-1 in only five innings of play. Lawrence Tech scored the initial run of the game and had a 1-0 lead after 2.5 innings of play. Davenport turned it on during the third and the fourth inning, scoring a combined 10 runs. Flores and Allen each had three RBI doubles in the bottom of the third inning. The Panthers scored another four runs in the fourth inning to take a nine run lead heading into the top of the fifth inning.

The Panthers continued to push down on the gas pedal during the second game by scoring another 10 runs. Davenport had a huge third inning, scoring six runs and creating a seven run lead. During the third inning the Panthers had three doubles, which accounted for five runs. Rowe, Allen and Eastman all recorded a double. Flores hit a deep bomb to right center in the top of the fifth inning to score Brambila and herself.
Up Next
Davenport will compete against Madonna University next in the WHAC Tournament. The game is scheduled for Friday, May 5 at 4:30 p.m.
