SYLVANIA, Ohio. – Davenport advanced to the WHAC Tournament Championship game with Madonna University after going 1-1 during day two. The Panthers fell to Madonna in a battle of the undefeated 4-1 and bounced back with a shutout vs University of Michigan-Dearborn 3-0. The team has a chance to be both regular season and conference tournament champions with two wins over Madonna tomorrow. Since the Crusaders beat DU earlier in the conference tournament the Panthers need to win two straight against Madonna to take the tournament championship trophy.

In the first game the bats for Davenport couldn't get the job done. During the seven innings the Panthers were at bat they only recorded six hits and scored one run. The opposing pitcher, Erin Combs, did a solid job on the mound against Davenport. Despite the low number of hits Davenport still scored a run and made it a game towards the end. Brambila drove in the only run of the game during the fifth inning to score French.

The Panthers bounced back quickly from their loss against the Crusaders. Davenport shut out the Wolverines and scored three of their own to get an opportunity at the WHAC Tournament Championship. Flores got the scoring started with a single that scored pinch runner
Lindsay Reed from second. In the fourth inning Davenport got runs from Tasma and Obetts, Crawford and Brambila were credited with the RBI's. Teunissen was a monster on the mound, pitching seven scoreless innings, giving up only two hits and walking one batter.

Davenport faces Madonna in the WHAC Tournament Championship game tomorrow. Since the Crusaders beat DU today, Davenport will have to beat Madonna twice tomorrow to claim the tournament championship. If Madonna wins the first or second game they will be crowned the champions, it is do or die time for the Panthers.
