GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport played a match against the University of Michigan in a friendly match on Saturday. The Panthers rolled over the Wolverines 124-5 and improved to 2-0 for the season. This was a 15's game and the first home match of the season. At halftime Davenport was leading 69-5 and scored 55 un-answered points in the second half.
Danielle Ordway led the scoring attack with five tries and was a match-up nightmare for the opposition. Head coach
Greg Teliczan said that "I believe the way we came out to play during the first 15 minutes was key. I have never seen us play so smooth and move the ball so quickly as I did against the Wolverines. There was no denying the team came to play today and stuck to our game plan like glue."
The next game for the team is set for October 7 against Kent State University. It will take place at the DU Turf Field in Grand Rapids, Mich.
