GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport had their third-lowest scoring output of the season tonight against the Dragons. The Panthers shot under 40 percent from the field, but assisted on almost all of their made field goals. Out of the 21 made field goals for DU, 16 of them were assisted. On the flip side of the ball, Tiffin only scored 64 points on the night and this was the ninth time Davenport held their opponent under 70 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Davenport found themselves down early in this game and struggled to scored the ball. Tiffin took a 12-4 lead with 12:48 left in the first half after a three-pointer in transition. Following a three ball by
Robbie Bramhill and a fast-break layup by
Delano Smith, the Panthers cut the lead down to three points. The Dragons build their lead up to 14 points with just under eight minutes to go in the half. Davenport lowered the deficit down to five points with 57 seconds to go in the half.
In the second half, Tiffin led by 16 points with 15:35 remaining in the game. The lead got down to single digits when
John McCloud finished a layup with 12:05 left to make the score 47-38.
Janeau Joubert nailed a triple to cap off a five-point run by the Panthers to get within five points of Tiffin. Joubert hit another clutch shot late in the game as he buried a three with 33 seconds remaining in regulation to bring the score to 62-57 in Tiffin's favor. Tiffin hit both their free throws on the next possession to close out the game.
Braima Hai and
Nick Malonga each scored 10 points on the night to lead Davenport in scoring. Hai also dished out seven assists, grabbed five rebounds and recorded three steals during 26 minutes of play.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will host Ashland University on Saturday for their second to last home game of the regular season. The game will tip-off around 3:00 p.m. in the DU Student Center.
