ORLANDO, Fla. – Davenport fell against Mount St. Mary's, who is an NCAA Division I program. The match was played under Division I rules. The Panthers lone victories came from singles play where Bridget Barrett and Sophie Gossett defeated both their opponents.
The double matches took place first where DU went 1-2. With the Panthers playing under NCAA Division I rules, the scoring for doubles is slightly different, as the winning team in doubles will only receive a single point if they win in doubles play. Steph Ritson and Adeline Nelson won 6-3 in the first doubles match. Gossett and Barrett fell in their match 6-1. Davenport would not earn a point in doubles play.
In singles, Davenport went 2-4. Ritson competed in first singles and fell 6-1 and 6-3. In second singles Nelson dropped her match 6-1, 6-3. Barrett defeated Megan Gamble 6-3, 6-4 in third singles. In fourth singles, Gossett won 6-2, 6-4.

Davenport will be in action again tomorrow, as the Panthers will take on the number 12 team in the NAIA, the University of Mobile at 12:00 p.m.
