Paddock had the following to say when finding out he earned this honor.
"I have been incredibly blessed by the sport of basketball! From meeting my wife Carrie on my college visit, to being fortunate enough to provide for my family through coaching, and working with the hundreds of incredible student athletes and their families. I am incredibly humbled for being chosen as a member of the 2018 Silver Anniversary Team by the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. As one of the inductees said at the banquet "The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame is sort of the pinnacle of basketball when growing up in the state". For me to be able to celebrate this with my wife, daughters, and extended family is incredibly surprising and humbling. It is an honor that I will not soon forget.

It's funny, as I went through this process and sat back to think about it, I realized how many people played such vital roles in allowing this to happen 25 years after playing my final high school game. My elementary school custodian (Mr. Jones), who would the leave the backdoor to the gym open for me long after he'd gone home for me to shoot for hours on end, my parents who spent countless days and amounts of money for me to play AAU or go to camps, my older brother and brother in-law who allowed me to tag along EVERYWHERE with them when they were playing, my high school coach (Garth Cone) who held me accountable. Coach Cone I learned a great deal from, including all the lessons that I may not have liked at the time, but looking back I am grateful for how and what he did for me. All of these people helped shaped me throughout my journey. I never say it enough, but to all those who helped me along the way – THANK YOU!"
