TIFFIN, Ohio - Senior
Krystien Johnson-Battilana had a career day for the Panther baseball team on Sunday. The righty tossed his first nine-inning, complete-game shutout in a 4-0 triumph over Tiffin as the Panthers took three-of-four in the weekend series. Johnson-Battilana threw his second career shutout, however the previous one was a seven-inning blanking. He tossed a career-high nine innings and allowed five hits to go with a walk and four strikeouts.
There was only one scoring inning in this one as DU plated four runs in the top of the third inning off Brady Ward.
Alex Huard led off with a single and was moved to second on a groundout.
Brent Showers then had a RBI single to right for a 1-0 lead. Showers stood at third and
Nolan Bryant at second with two outs when
Zac Wilson launched a three-run homer to right, his eighth of the season, for a 4-0 lead.
Wilson also stole two bases to push his season total to 19. He is currently tied for third in a season at DU. John Heckman had two of his team's five hits for Tiffin including a double. The Dragons left four on base for the contest.
