SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Davenport remained on the road for their second straight game. Similar to last week, the Panthers came away with a victory in enemy territory. The Panthers defeated Notre Dame College by a score of 41-30, earning their third straight victory and improving to 5-3 on the season.
Notre Dame College came out on fire, as was expected by the Panthers coaching staff. Similar to the first meeting between the two teams, NDC scored first, but the Panthers answered quickly. This time around,
Megan Bird scored two tries and
Ashleigh DeWitt added one. With no time left on the clock in the first half,
Cole Schield scooped up a loose ball and scampered 60 meters for the final score of the half.
Davenport built a 41-15 lead late in the second half, but NDC would not go away. They scored three unanswered tries in the last 20 minutes of the game and the final score was 41-30. The Panthers weathered the Falcons storm and took home their second straight road win.
Bird, DeWitt, Schield,
Olivia Ortiz,
Bethany Gable and
Mariah Pruitt all scored tries for the Panthers. DeWitt added a penalty kick and four conversions.
