Maryland Heights, Mo. – The D1 hockey team looked to bounce back on Sunday after their offense struggled on Saturday night. Lindenwood was searching to make seven-in-a-row against the Panthers.
Almost déjà vu for the Panthers. The Lions defense did not allow the Panthers offense to get going. The game was close heading into the third period thanks to the play of goaltender
Zach Janis, but the Lions were able pot a few goals late to ensure the sweep.

Final Score: Davenport 0 – Lindenwood 5
Shots: DU 19 | LU 51
Power Play: DU (0/4) | LU (2/4)

HOME STRIKE
The game started with both teams getting scoring chances, but similar to Saturday, the Lions would get the majority of the shots. They were rewarded later in the first period as Aapo Nurminen slid a shot through Janis for his fifth goal of the season to give Lindenwood the lead.
FRESH SAVES
The second period saw neither team tickle the twine. Cooper Seedott held his own on the Lindenwood end, but DU's freshman netminder kept the Panthers in the game in the second period. Janis ended up making 46 saves in the game.
SPACING IT OUT
The third began with Alex Kalau scoring his second of the weekend to put the Lions up by two. DU was still within striking distance, but Lindenwood showed their defensive dominance, holding Davenport's top offensive weapons at bay.
Just before the halfway mark of the period,
Cory Bussing would take a major penalty, giving the Lions a great opportunity on the man advantage. Kyler Newman on blasted a one-timer passed Janis to make it a 3-0 game. As the penalty continued, Coltin Craigo scored his fifth of the season just as the penalty expired to give the Lions a four-goal lead.
Kalau would add his second goal of the game on the power play late in regulation, and the Lions would complete the sweep by a final score of 5-0.
WHO'S NEXT?
