KENOSHA, Wis. - Parkside has just one win away from home this season (1-8) and that came at Davenport on Dec. 7. The Panthers got another crack at the Rangers on Thursday night, though, and made the most of it. Davenport scored the game's first nine points, led it wire to wire and steamrolled Parkside by 21, 70-49. The defeat marked the Rangers' worst home loss in over four years.
Janeau Joubert's 15 points led five scorers in double-figures along with
Robbie Bramhill (14),
Tafari Beckford (12),
Evan Hines (11), and
Chris Pearl (11). Bramhill also brought down a game-high 11 rebounds, one off his career high, for his third-career double-double, first of the season and first ever on the road. Five different Panthers dished out multiple assists led by
Chris Rollins' four. Defensively, Bramhill and Pearl each had a block while Rollins had a squad-high two steals.
As mentioned above, Davenport opened the game with a 9-0 run and never looked back. The Panthers would go on to lead the Rangers by as many as 19, 38-19, when Hines drained a half-court buzzer beater heading into halftime. Out of the intermission, Davenport's advantage was never smaller than 16, 40-24, and was as large as 34, 66-32, with just over six minutes to play in the game.
In the team head-to-head, Davenport out-rebounded Parkside by 15, 44-29, and those 44 boards are tied for the Panthers' second most this season. Davenport also racked up 17 assists, which is tied for the team's third-best mark this season. The Panthers secured a season-high 15 offensive rebounds and turned them into 16 second-chance points (16-7 over Parkside).
Next up, Davenport will be at Purdue Northwest on Saturday with the tip set for 4 p.m. ET, 3 p.m. CT.
