KENOSHA, Wis. – The Panthers faced a team that doesn't lose very often in their home gym, the Rangers of Parkside. The Rangers came into the game with a 6-2 record in their gym, but Davenport was coming off a win last week and heightened confidence. This game could have gone either way down the stretch. However, Parkside squeaked out the win on their home court by a measly five points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Davenport needed a strong first quarter to have a chance against the Rangers on the road, something that the Panthers have been doing very well as of late. The offense was in abundance for both teams, as a combined 48 points were scored in the quarter. Davenport trailed 23-25 after the opening 10 minutes of play, getting buckets from six different players.
The Panthers were hot to open the second. Davenport went on a 13-5 run over a four-minute stretch, building up a 36-30 lead. The bulk of their work was done in the paint, scoring eight of their 13 points near the rim. Parkside gathered themselves and the lead bounced back their way late in the quarter. At the break, Davenport held a 45-43 lead, their 13
th time this season leading at the halfway mark.
The third quarter was the definition of a back and forth contest. The scored was tied at six different points throughout the quarter. The lead stuck with Davenport at the end of the third. A free throw by
Elise Scaggs gave DU a 69-68 lead heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
Again, similar to the second quarter, Davenport came out with a hot hand. The Panthers opened the quarter on a 9-4 run, giving them a 78-72 advantage with 5:16 on the clock. The Rangers went on a run of their own, tying the game at 78-78 with 2:52 to play in regulation. Davenport went cold from the field, missing a few field goals and free throws down the stretch. The scoring drought was broke by
Madison Jones in the final seconds of play, hitting a free throw to bring the game to 81-79. Parkside rebounded the next free throw attempt, and were fouled, sending Taylor Stephen to the line. She made her first, putting the lead at three points, but unintentionally missed her second. The loose ball was grabbed by the Rangers, and DU had to immediately foul to stop the clock. Parkside hit both and the game concluded. Davenport was hurt with their lack of scoring down the stretch of this game, scoring one point in the final five minutes of action.
