KENOSHA, Wis. - The women's basketball team dropped a 99-59 Thursday night contest at Parkside falling to 0-7 overall, 0-3 in the GLIAC. The Rangers improved to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
The middle quarters was where things turned as the Rangers outscored the Panthers 60-22 in the second and third quarters. Davenport had an 8-5 lead at the 6:04 mark of the first quarter and also led 15-14 with 2:17 left in the quarter. Parkside would then score the last six points of the quarter and never look back.
The Rangers took their first double-digit lead at 29-17 with 6:37 left in the second quarter and kept that double-digit lead the rest of the way. In the second quarter, Parkside shot 12-of-17 from the floor including 6-of-8 from the arc. Lamija Coric off the bench scored nine points in the quarter making all three of her triple tries. Parkside was scorching from the arc in the first half going 8-of-13 compared to 1-of-9 for the Panthers.
Davenport outscored the Rangers 22-19 in the fourth quarter shooting 8-of-19 including 3-of-6 from the arc.
Ajai Simmons scored all nine of her points in the quarter going 4-of-6 from the floor.
Scout Nelson led the Panthers with 14 points going 6-of-8 from the floor and also had five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Toni Grace added 13 points, three rebounds and two steals.
Loni Sales was the third player in double figures with 10 points and also had five rebounds, three assists and three steals.
