GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport women's basketball team dropped a 64-48 decision to visiting Saginaw Valley State on Friday. The Panthers are now 5-12 while the Cardinals improved to 8-9.

Toni Grace joined the 1,000-point club with a three-pointer at the 5:06 mark of the second quarter. She becomes the 15th Panther to hit that career milestone. Grace led the team with 15 points and has hit double figures in all 16 games this season.
Scout Nelson added 11 points and tied a season high with five assists.
Ryan Harvey got her first career start and played 26 minutes. She set a career high with eight rebounds and led the team on the glass.
Davenport led 4-3 early and could not regain the lead after that point. The Cardinals led 20-12 after the first quarter and shot 53.8 percent from the floor. The Panthers trailed 27-14 at the 6:17 mark of the second quarter when Grace connected on three straight triples to cut the lead to 27-23 with 3:46 remaining in the half. The Cardinals scored at the buzzer and took a 32-25 lead at halftime.
The Panthers got as close as 32-29 early in the third quarter but the Cardinals extended their lead to 41-31 with 5:07 left in the quarter. The lead remained in double digits for the rest of the contest. SVSU shot 44.2 percent for the game including 10-of-24 from behind the arc.Â
