GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Led by a record-breaking performance from sophomore middle hitter,
Emmy Webb, the Davenport University women's volleyball team cruised past Purdue Northwest, 3-0, in the 2021 home opener on Friday night inside the DU Student Center. Improving to 1-2 on the season, the Panthers will host the Pride (0-3) again on Saturday with the first serve set for 4 p.m.

How It Happened
- Webb broke the school record for hitting percentage in a single match with a minimum of 20 attempts (previous record was Hannah Stone's .714 in 2014).
- PNW scored the first four points of the match and DU wasn't able to take its first lead until 10-9.
- That 19th point came in the midst of a 10-1 run for the Panthers that brought them back from three down (8-5) to up six (15-9).
- From there until the end of the set, the Pride could never get closer than three (17-14, 18-15, 20-17) before the home team won the set by six.
- Aside from six ties in the second set, PNW never had the lead and DU led by as many as four at one point, 12-8.
- The Pride finally led again in the third set, 6-5, before the Panthers outscored them by 13, 20-7, from there until the end of the set to win the match in straight sets.
