ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Davenport men's lacrosse team made the trip to 20th-ranked Maryville on Saturday and fell 14-5. DU is now 0-4 overall while Maryville is 3-0.
Maryville led 3-1 after the first quarter and 8-4 at halftime. The Saints then pulled away by outscoring the Panthers 6-0 in the third quarter. Davenport would then score the only goal of the fourth quarter.
Stephen Ochsenkehl scored a pair of goals to lead DU and he also had two groundballs.
Keelan McKouen,
Fernando Rodriguez and
Adam Smellie also notched a goal for the Panthers.
James Johnston had two assists and
Jordan Caskenette also had one assist.
DU went 8-of-22 in the faceoff circle and
Connor Foster won five of those faceoffs.
Daniel Milano collected six groundballs and also made 11 saves in net for DU.
Kaden Seelye led the team with four caused turnovers. Davenport finished 2-for-4 in man-up opportunities.
