MIDLAND, Mich. - The Timberwolves took the third game of the weekend series over the Davenport baseball team on Saturday and pulled away late in the 11-5 victory. Northwood scored seven of their 11 runs in the final three innings to improve to 18-8 overall and 9-6 in the GLIAC. Davenport falls to 16-11 overall and 9-6 in the GLIAC. NU and DU are now in a three-way tie with Ashland for second place in the GLIAC standings.
Davenport held a 3-2 lead after scoring twice in the third.
Nolan Anspaugh had a RBI single and
Carson Eby followed with a RBI single in the third. Northwood scored once in the fourth and again in the fifth to take a 4-3 lead. NU scored three times in the sixth to take a 7-3 advantage.
Noah Marcoux cut the deficit to 7-5 in the seventh with his league-leading seventh home run of the season in the seventh. The Timberwolves got those two runs right back in the seventh and added two more in the eighth for the final 11-5 margin.
Each team had 12 hits in the contest. David Jeffers went 2-of-5 with three RBI and a stolen bases for the Timberwolves. Rhett Evans went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Jacob Rybicki scored twice, drew three walks and stole two bases for NU.
Evan Maize pitched well in the start for DU. He went five innings and allowed six hits and three earned runs. Maize walked two and struck out four in a 78-pitch effort.

Spencer Vainavicz each gave up two earned runs in relief.
Eby finished 3-for-3 with a walk for the Panthers. He has hit safely in eight of the last nine games. Eby also had his fifth three-hit game of the season. Anspaugh,
