LANSING, Mich. - 
James Rogers picked a great time to deliver his best start of the season on Thursday. The top-seeded Panthers dominated sixth-seeded Saginaw Valley State by a final score of 11-1 in quest of a tournament championship to go with their regular-season title.
Rogers tossed seven innings and allowed three hits with one walk and three strikeouts to improve to 8-2 this season. He allowed a leadoff single to Connor McClellen and then set down 10 straight until a single in the fourth inning by Hayden Jatczak. In four of his seven innings, he retired the Cardinals in order. Rogers also needed just 83 pitches to get through his seven innings.
Jatczak got the start for Saginaw Valley State and tossed two solid innings before allowing two unearned runs in the third. 
Kamrin Markwardt homered with two outs in the fourth inning to make it 3-0. It was his third long ball of the season. DU got a pair of runs in the fifth inning as 
Noah Marcoux launched a moon shot home run to center. His two-run bomb was number 13 on the season and scored 
Christian Petre in front of him.
Nolan Anspaugh drove in two runs with a single through the left side in the sixth inning for an 8-0 advantage. Jatczak would go 5.1 innings and allow six hits and six earned runs. Nolan Hamilton would toss 1.1 innings in relief and give up three hits and two runs with three walks.
Nolan Bryant drove in a run with a single in the seventh and Markwardt crossed home plate on a wild pitch later in the inning for a 10-0 lead. 
Travis Harvey had a RBI single in the eighth inning to conclude the scoring for DU. 
Max Swan entered in the ninth and gave up a run as Colin Cornwell doubled down the right field and later scored from third on a groundout by Jaccar Watkins.
The bottom third of the order for Davenport combined for five hits, four runs and three walks. Anspaugh, Petre and Marcoux each finished with two RBI.Â
