HOUGHTON, Mich. - Set to open GLIAC play on a three-match winning streak, the Davenport University women's volleyball team was tasked with a road affair against Michigan Tech. Just five days after receiving more votes than any other program outside the top 25 in the AVCA Coaches Poll, the Huskies took down the Panthers in straight sets on Saturday afternoon.

- Davenport's offense gained steam as the match progressed with hitting percentages of -.103 in the first, .118 in the second and .409 in the third.
- Michigan Tech on the other hand came out hot with a .440 clip in the first before a .268 and .278 in the second and third sets, respectively.
- Kalinowski (three service aces) had multiple service aces in a single match for the first time as a Panther.
- Hayes tied her career high in total blocks with three, all of which were assisted.
- Webb and Groves were the most efficient on offense with hitting percentages of .444 and .286, respectively.
