KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Redshirt senior forward Matt Whelan and redshirt junior Eoin Broughan have both been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Team in NCAA Division II. Whelan was one of three forwards named to the First Team All-Region list while Broughan was named Third Team All-Region at midfield.

Whelan was named First Team All-GLIAC for the third time in 2022. He tied for the GLIAC lead with 16 goals and was fifth in Division II in total goals at the end of the regular season. Whelan also ranked seventh in shots per game nationally and had six multi-goal games in 2022. He leaves DU with 43 career goals to rank third all-time and his 16 goals this season are sixth-most in DU history.

Broughan was named First Team All-GLIAC for the second time in 2022. He also was named First Team All-GLIAC in 2019. He had two goals and one assist in the GLIAC Tournament semifinal win against No. 15 Parkside and had a career-high five points in that win. Broughan also had a goal and assist in season-opening win against nationally-ranked Illinois-Springfield. He finished the season with five goals and five assists.
