INDIANAPOLIS - Fresh off the first GLIAC Tournament title in program history, the Davenport University men's basketball team is heading to the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever. Sunday night, the Panthers received the eight seed for the NCAA's Midwest Regional and will face the top seed/host, Walsh, on Friday at 5 p.m. in the quarterfinals.
Davenport (17-13), riding a seven-game winning streak, will be facing Walsh (23-6) for the first time in school history. The Cavaliers, winners of both the G-MAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships, play their home games inside the Cecchini Center where they've gone 14-2 this season. Walsh comes in also having won seven-straight games.
