FAYETTE, Iowa - Led by 24 goals from 12 different players, the Davenport University women's lacrosse team made quick work of Upper Iowa on Sunday in the Hawkeye State, 24-4. Next up on the schedule for the Panthers is a home date with No. 11 Grand Valley State on Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m.
Blakely Malpass (pictured) paced the Panthers in goals with five while six more players found the back of the net multiple times including
Theadora Krueger (3),
Hannah Medina (3),
Maddy Haynes (2),
Aaliyah Miller (2),
Jordon Highley (2), and
Sydney Potter (2). Also scoring for Davenport were
Christine Steffes,
Avery Garant,
Avery Eichler,
Marisa Scola, and
Ele Darmofal. Breaking into the assist column were Malpass (3), Medina (2), Haynes (2), Highley (2), Darmofal (2), Miller (1), and Eichler (1).
Miller topped Davenport in draw controls (6) while being joined by Haynes (5),
An Poropat (3) and Krueger (1). Defensively, Highley racked up eight ground balls while her and Scola each tallied three caused turnovers. In goal,
Maisy Latus played the first half with one save on four shots faced before
Makenna Pitchford's three attempts seen in the second half.
