The Davenport track and field teams sent their student-athletes in the decathlon and pentathlon to the Tiffin Track Carnival and throwers to the Ball State We Fly Challenge.
Noah Dooley competing in the decathlon finished second in a field of nine with 6,374 points and set a new personal best. Dooley won the 100 meters with a time of 10.89 seconds and earned 885 points. He also finished second in the long jump with a distance of 21' 1.25" and earned 682 points. Dooley ran second in the 400 meters with a time of 51.80 seconds and earned 734 points. His speciality of the pole vault yielded first place results with a height of 13' 1.75" and 620 points.
Annabelle Schafer finished sixth in a field of 14 in the heptathlon with a total of 4,183 points and established a career best in the event. She finished fourth in the javelin with a throw of 102' 11". She was also fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.42.
At the Ball State We Fly Challenge, the men's shot put belonged to the Panthers as
Isaiah Schafer took first and
Noah Evers took second. Schafer had a best throw of 58' 7.25" while Evers had a throw that topped out at 53' 8.25". Schafer wasn't done there as he also won the discus with a throw of 161' 0" and was fourth in the hammer throw (177' 3"). Evers took home fifth place in the discus with a distance of 153' 1".
Claude Ockert brought home second place in the hammer throw with a distance of 196' 3".
Jessica Marvin had a really solid meet as she placed second in the shot put with a throw of 42' 6.75" on her third attempt. Marvin was able to win the discus with a throw of 135' 1" on her sixth and final attempt. Marvin completed her meet with a third-place finish in the hammer throw (156' 4").
Lisa Wangler was second in the hammer throw (162' 4") and also fourth in the discus (118' 8") and shot put (41' 1").
