GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The second-seeded Davenport women's lacrosse team will travel to Allendale on Friday to battle the No. 3 seed, Concordia-St. Paul, in the semifinals of the GLIAC Tournament. The opening draw will come at 6 p.m. and if the Panthers can win, they'll face either top-seeded/seventh-ranked Grand Valley State or fourth-seeded Northern Michigan on Sunday in the finals.
Davenport (12-5, 5-3 GLIAC) and Concordia-St. Paul (8-9, 4-4 GLIAC) split their two regular season meetings with the Panthers winning in Grand Rapids on March 27, 12-10, and the Golden Bears victorious in St. Paul on April 8, 15-12. CSP leads the all-time series by three, 6-3, and that win in the Twin Cities snapped a three-game winning streak for DU between the two teams. Davenport comes in having won two of its last three games while Concordia-St. Paul has been on the right end in four of its last five. Friday's showdown will be the second between the two in the GLIAC Tournament with CSP defeating DU in the 2019 quarterfinals, 15-9, in St. Paul.
