ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Davenport track and field teams competed at the Bob Eubanks Open on Saturday in their first meet of the new year.
Noah Evers in the shot put improved his national mark at 56 feet and placed second in the event.
Brendan LaLonde also had the second fastest time in school history in the 400 meters and just missed a provisional mark. He won the event with a time of 48.70 with the provisional mark at 48.59.
Erin Dorn bested the field in the 800 meters winning with a time of 2:17.01. Dorn also placed sixth in the mile run with a time of 5:10.32.
Deidre Lorton placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 5' 0.5".
Stacia Rispress also cleared the same height and was listed as fifth.
Sidney Heugel won the pole vault with a time of 12' 6.25".
Mackenzie Brigham placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 34' 4".
Annabelle Schafer placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 37' 6.75".
Lisa Wangler placed third in the weight throw with a distance of 54' 0.5".Â
Shawn Sims took home third in the 60 meters with a time of 7.07.
Ethan Flores finished second in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.30 and was .08 shy of the provisional mark.
Corbin DeJonge was right behind him in third place at 8.49. The 4x400 meter relay team of LaLonde,
Collin Graham, Sims, and
Nolan Kudera finished third with a time of 3:23.91.
Nick Ruvalcaba claimed victory in the pole vault with a height of 15' 3".
Ethan Scholten placed third in the long jump with a distance of 21' 8". He also was third in the triple jump at 38' 11.75".Â
