ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Panther swimming and diving squads made the short trip to Grand Valley State on Saturday as the men and women competed against the Lakers in dual action. The Lakers would win both with a final score of 198.5-84.5 for the men and 218-74 for the women.
On the diving front,
Emily Bolt as well as
Lacey Mirandette and Lexi Mirandette all made their NCAA qualifying scores. Lexie finished third with 258.45 points, Bolt finished fifth with 257.63, and Lacey was sixth place with 256.49 points.
The Panthers were also able to accomplish a series of first and second place finishes. On the men's side,
Alvaro Ruiz de Canas touched the wall in second during the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:44.59.
Jakub Karpinski in the 100 backstroke was also second in a time of 53.66.
Richard Polasek had a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.97
Owen Stender placed second in two different events finishing in a time of 58.99 in the 100 breaststroke and 2:11.60 in the 200 breaststroke.
David Szczygiel also placed second in two events with a time of 1:53.52 in the 200 butterfly and 4:13.17 in the 400 IM.
Rebecca Wallis placed second on the women's side in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:10.14.
