GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Behind a scorching hot performance from deep, the Davenport University men's basketball team dominated Great Lake Christian 106-62 in its home opener Tuesday evening at the DU Student Center. The Panthers knocked down a school record 20 three-pointers in the victory, breaking the previous record (18), which came in 2019 against the Crusaders.

DU finished the game shooting 56 percent from the floor and 48.8 percent from beyond the arc. Six different Panthers finished in double-figures for the first time this season.

Marcedus Leech Jr. led the way for the Panthers, pouring in a season-high 25 points to go along with a career-high seven three-pointers.

Leech Jr. nailed two threes with 1:14 second remaining in the half as Davenport took a 55-32 lead into the break.

With 2:26 remaining, Aidan Moon found Jack Olis for a three-point make, which gave the Panthers the new school record (19). Tucker added to the record, making the last shot from deep for DU with 1:42 remaining.
