KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Chiefs could only be as lucky as the Panthers were in Kansas City on Super Bowl Sunday. Davenport picked up their first win of the season (1-1) in a 15-5 rout of Colorado State Pueblo on a neutral site at Rockhurst University.
Jayden Ashley was the rock star on offense for the Panthers. He finished with seven goals and three assists and also had 14 shots attempts with 10 shots on goal. In addition, Ashley scooped up two groundballs and caused a turnover.
Dylan Day,
Trent Eichbauer, and
James Johnston each had two goals on the afternoon. Johnston led the team with five assists and also had two groundballs and one caused turnover.
Keelan McKouen and
Adam Smellie also hit the back of the net once for Davenport.
Davenport split goalkeeper duties as
Daniel Milano and
Chase Fisher each played 30 minutes. Milano finished with five saves and Fisher had two saves.
Kaden Seelye led the team with seven groundballs and three caused turnovers. Davenport as a team finished with 42 shots including 29 on target. Pueblo managed 21 shots including 12 shots on goal. They turned it over 28 times and caused just four turnovers. Ezra Terry and Lane Lessley each had two goals for Pueblo. The Panthers led 7-1 at halftime and also outscored Pueblo 8-4 in the second half.
