GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Redshirt sophomore
Maisy Latus has been named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time in her career. The goalkeeper registered 11 saves against both Quincy and McKendree in the Panthers' opening week of action. Latus finished with a .550 save percentage against the Hawks while posting a .478 save percentage against the Bearcats. In the 12-9 loss to McKendree, Latus stepped up late to give Davenport a chance for a comeback, not allowing a goal in the final period.Â
Latus was an honorable mention All-GLIAC performer a season ago and earned Defensive Player of the Week honors twice as a redshirt freshman.Â
This marks Davenport's 17th weekly honor given by the GLIAC since joining the conference, which includes nine on offense and eight on defense.
Looking ahead Latus and the Panthers will match-up against Lynn University on Feb. 28 in Boca Raton, Fla. at 4 p.m.
