CALEDONIA, Mich. - The Davenport baseball team stretched their double-digit scoring streak to five games on Friday scoring 10 in game one and game two against Parkside. The Panthers prevailed 10-3 in game one and 10-2 in game two. The Panthers are creeping closer to the .500 mark at 19-20 overall and are 13-6 in the GLIAC.
James Kohl picked up his fifth win of the season in game one grinding out a complete game. He threw all seven innings and allowed three earned runs. His command was impeccable with no walks and a career-high 11 strikeouts. The Rangers scored a run in the first and third innings. Andrew Harris had a RBI single in the first and Angel Rades had a solo home run in the third.
Khale Showers finished with a team-best three RBI and hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning.
Tyler Mosher drove in two runs and drew two walks.
Michael Tchavdarov went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, and two runs scored.
Coltrane Rubner went 2-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored.
Carson Fischer got his fourth win of the season in game two by going seven innings. He allowed five hits and no earned runs to go with just one walk and a career-high 12 strikeouts to eclipse his previous high of eight.
Jack Snow pitched a scoreless eighth inning with one strikeout.
Aaron Ball wrapped it up in the ninth and also had a strikeout.
Rubner had a double and stolen base and scored three times after drawing three walks.
Carter Troncin had a two-run triple in the third inning.
Gaetano Vallone had a bases-clearing double to right field in the third inning. Showers drove in the first two runs of the game in the first inning and Mosher later had a RBI single.
