GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University Division 2 and Division 3 men's hockey teams hosted their respective Davenport Hockey Showcase to kick off the start of the 2023-24 season, playing in a total of three matches apiece.

D2 hockey opened their season in a first-ever matchup against the University of Wisconsin that resulted in a 1-6 loss against the Badgers on Sept. 22. The following day, another tough defeat against Adrian College saw the Panthers fall 3-6. Determined to end the showcase weekend off with their first victory of the season, DU did just that as they overcame Denison University in an impressive 9-4 victory.

For the D3 program, The Panthers hosted Missouri State University, Miami (Ohio), and Pittsburgh Johnstown over the course of three days (Sept. 22-24) and finished the matches 1-9, 3-10, and 0-11 respectively - holding a record of 0-3-0 to start.

Now 1-2-0 for the season, the D2 program will face DePaul University in back-to-back matches (Sept. 29-30), with the D3 team taking a rest until their next scheduled match against Western Michigan (Oct. 6).
