MILWAUKEE, Wis. -The ACHA Division II Davenport men's hockey program skated out of Wisconsin with a weekend sweep over Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), earning a 6–3 win on Saturday before closing the series with a 3–2 overtime victory on Sunday. The Panthers combined for nine goals across the two matchups, showcasing balanced scoring, heavy shot volume, and strong special-teams play throughout the series.
Saturday's Matchup
The Panthers set the tone early on Saturday, striking three times in the opening period. Eric O'Reilly opened the scoring at 4:57, finishing a setup from Christopher Barnard and Titus Yang. Just two minutes later, Logan Spykerman doubled the lead with an unassisted tally, and at 7:33, Brayden Bartlett buried his fourth of the season on a feed from Nate Dixon, pushing DU ahead 3–0.
The second period featured a surge of offense on both ends. Cole Dixon struck twice for Davenport — first at 2:48 from Harrison Follett, then again at 9:30 off assists from Derrand Wilcox and Everett Ingram, extending the Panthers' lead to 5–1. MSOE's lone second-period goal came at 12:55 from Joseph Grobarek, but Maddux Kadera restored the four-goal cushion at 16:08, finishing a play created by Barnard and Sebastian Pacocha.
In the third, DU added one more insurance goal when Bartlett netted his second of the night at 4:55 on the power play, assisted by Edward Pukhalsky and Spykerman. MSOE grabbed a late response from Harrison Follett at 18:50, but the Panthers' early control and offensive depth sealed the 6–3 victory.
Despite DU going 0-for-1 on the power play, they controlled the pace with a 37–40 shots-on-goal margin and weathered four MSOE power plays with strong discipline and shot suppression.
Sunday's Matchup
The Panthers capped the weekend with a dramatic overtime win, led once again by standout performances from key forwards.
Davenport wasted no time in the first period, scoring four goals in the opening ten minutes. Maddux Kadera got the Panthers rolling just 48 seconds in, assisted by Grobarek. At 4:48, Nathan Kapetanou doubled the lead off a setup from Kadera and Barnard.
DU continued the onslaught minutes later. At 7:09, Gabriel Olenzuk extended the advantage on a feed from Pukhalsky. Then at 10:03, Cole Dixon added Davenport's fourth of the period — his 10th of the season — again assisted by Pukhalsky.
From there, MSOE tightened defensively and slowly climbed back. The Raiders held DU scoreless in the second and third periods while cutting the deficit, eventually forcing overtime with a pair of third-period goals.
But in the extra frame, it was Dixon who delivered the dagger. Just 2:49 into OT, he roofed the game-winner — his 11th goal of the year — securing the 3–2 thriller and completing the weekend sweep.
Davenport finished the game with a commanding 69–27 shots-on-goal advantage, though MSOE's goaltending kept the contest tight. The Panthers also killed off both Raider power-play chances to preserve the win.
