GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Falling in a weekend series that consisted of the home opener, Davenport University men's D2 ice hockey lost back-to-back meetings against Schoolcraft College on the road and at home.

The first contest saw the Ocelots take a sizable 4-0 lead at the end of the first 20 minutes of play as the opponent capitalized on the lead in the early portions of the second period, 6-0. Nearing the final minutes of the second, Ryan Long sent in the Panthers' first goal of the weekend (assist Gabe Olenzuk, Nathan Hartline), with Brayden Bartlett adding a score (assist Nate Mastrony) under a minute later for the final goal of the night - eventually falling 8-2. Devin DeCarlo played all 60 minutes in net, making 33 saves on 35 shots faced.

A closer contest unfolded the next day in the Panthers' 2024-25 home opener, but the Ocelots walked out with a 4-1 victory to sweep the series, 2-0.

DU (0-4-0 overall) is slated for its second home contest this year on Friday, Oct. 18, as they host Adrian College for the first of two games next weekend.
