Tucker Nets Season-High 20 Points as Panthers Fall to Timberwolves

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Jovan Tucker poured in a season-high 20 points as the Davenport University men's basketball team fell 84-65 to Northwood on Wednesday afternoon at the DU Student Center.

The Panthers (1-3, 0-0 GLIAC) got out to a quick start as Joey Cabana converted a three-point play the old-fashioned way to push DU ahead 10-4 four minutes into the contest. However, the Timberwolves answered with a 10-0 run of their own to take a 14-10 advantage.

Raishaun Brown nailed his second three of the game to put a halt to the NU run, trimming the deficit to one (14-13).

After falling behind by double digits, Davenport put together a 7-0 run towards the end of the half to cut the Timberwolves' lead to nine (39-30). Brown capped the rally with a three-pointer off a Tucker assist.

To start the second half, the Panthers again trimmed the deficit to nine (44-35) in the opening minute but could not draw any closer for the remainder of the contest.

Cabana finished with a season-high 12 points while grabbing two boards in 20 minutes of action. Brown added 11 points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal, while Matyas Vrabel chipped in with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Off the bench, Aidan Moon registered eight points and six rebounds.
