ASHLAND, Ohio - The first game of the weekend series at No. 17 Ashland was a quick one played in two hours and 20 minutes. The Eagles got a great pitching performance by Marshall Leishman (3-0) who went 8.1 innings before handing the ball over in the ninth inning. Leishman allowed no earned runs and four hits with 10 strikeouts. Zac Common got his first save of the season by recording the final two outs by flyouts.

Carson Fischer had a solid outing but got no run support. He went all eight innings and allowed four earned runs in the 4-1 defeat. He walked two and fanned four Eagles but slipped to 0-4 on the mound this season.

Anthony Aloisio had the only extra-base hit for Davenport with a double and Josh Robinson broke up the shutout with a RBI single in the ninth inning. Michael Tchavdarov and Logan Todd also had a hit in the contest. Ben Peltz hit a home run for Ashland and drove in two runs. Ian Sanders also had a RBI single as the Eagles scored three runs in their half of the fourth inning.

The two teams will play another one tomorrow at 1 PM.
