Panthers close out road trip in loss to Hounds

Box Score INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Davenport University women's lacrosse closed out a five-game road trip in an 18-6 loss to No. 13 University of Indianapolis.

UIndy took the lead early and didn't let up as an 8-1 lead at the end of the first period resulted in a 12-2 advantage at the halftime break. The Panthers were unable to string together a comeback in the second half as the Hounds closed the next 30 minutes with a 6-4 scoring run.

Blakely Malpass led the Panthers with two goals, followed by one goal each from Maddy Haynes, Brianna Rodriguez, Gabby Basha, and Theadora Krueger. Maisy Latus tallied 13 saves for a .419 save percentage.

With the team's home opener on the horizon, the Panthers will have over a week off before hosting McKendree University on Monday, March 18, at the DU Turf Field.
