ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Davenport track and field teams pivoted and instead of going to Michigan State made a quick trip over to the Grand Valley State Early Meet on Friday and Saturday.
There were a total of four school records that fell over the past two days. The women's 4x100 meter relay won the event with a time of 47.45. The foursome consisted of
Erin Boettcher,
Julia Tuuri,
Leialani Akalaonu, and Haley Esser.
Ella Baryo won the grueling 5,000 meters with a time of 17:37.63.
Erin Dorn placed second in the 800 meters (2:10.56) and also improved her time to 17th in Division II.
Tyler Guggemos set a new standard in the 1,500 meters with his school record 3:59.26 and also placed third in the event.
Sticking with the men's results, it was the 4x100 meter relay winning first place with a time of 41.06.

Solomon King,
Rease Teel, and
Marshall Brooks were able to team up for the win. King continued on in the 100 meters and won that with a time of 10.81. Moving on to the throws,
Noah Evers won the shot put with a toss of 60' 10.75" and is currently third in Division II.
Bryce Monroe narrowly missed the NCAA qualifying mark in the discus with a throw of 165' 6".
Jacob Dennis ran the second-fastest time in school history in the 5,000 meters (14:59.35).
Jordan Domany was right behind him with the third-fastest time in the 5,000 meters (15:02.09).
Adam Jorgensen finished second in the 400 meter hurdles (54.95).
Alexander Hernandez also was able to finish third in the hammer throw with a season best mark of 171' 9".
Tuuri would finish third in the 200 meters (25.82) and fourth in the 100 meters (12.52). Esser finished second in the 400 meters (58.21) while running the fifth-fastest time in DU history.
Kay-Lee McSwain placed second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.02.
Annabelle Schafer finished second in the long jump (17' 6") and also won the javelin (118' 9").
