GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport University men's DII hockey split a weekend series against the Aurora University Spartans between Dec. 13 and 14. The Panthers secured their first win at home of the 2024-25 campaign after a 7-3 victory, followed by a 3-0 loss on the road the next day.

The strong showing on Dec. 13 featured four separate scorers, including Anthony Ott, Brayden Bartlett, Nathan Mastrony, and Lukas Lyszyk. Ott posted two of his three scores in the first period, with Lyszyk flirting with a hat trick after tucking in a goal in the second and third periods. Devin Decarlo started and played all 60 minutes in goal, making 43 saves on 46 shots faced.

With 10 contests remaining in the regular season, DU closed the 2024 calendar year 2-14-0 and will be back in action on Jan. 10-11 in a road series against Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Meyers.
