COLUMBUS, OH – Davenport University freshman Delaney Sousley made a powerful statement at the 2025 USA Powerlifting Arnold Sports Festival, held on March 8th at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. As the youngest professional female powerlifter in the nation, Delaney continues to blaze a trail in collegiate powerlifting, breaking records and pushing the limits of her strength on one of the sport's biggest stages.
Competing in the 48 kg (105 lbs) teen 3 category, Delaney delivered an outstanding performance. She squatted 132.5 kg (292 lbs), benched 75 kg (165 lbs), and set a new world record with a 160 kg (353 lbs) deadlift. This deadlift not only claimed the world record for her weight class, but it also earned Delaney a new world record total of 367.5 kg (810 lbs), solidifying her place among the sport's elite.
Delaney finished 9th out of 26 competitors, posting a remarkable DOTS score of 483.155. Each record she set at the Arnold Sports Festival proves her potential and cements her status as one of the brightest rising stars in powerlifting. Her future in the sport looks incredibly promising.
Davenport University was also represented by Jackson Jones, who competed in the 100 kg (220 lbs) weight class in the Arnold's Bench Bash on March 9th. Jackson bench pressed 180 kg (397 lbs), securing 9th place out of 14 competitors. His performance highlighted the strength and competitive spirit of the DU powerlifting team at this prestigious event.
